Casey Anthony’s lawyer Jose Baez thinks Casey and Amanda Knox are a couple of “all-American girls,” with a key difference -- Amanda’s parents helped her case, he says.
Baez tells TMZ he was pleased for Knox and her folks when her murder conviction was overturned by an Italian court. He says Amanda’s family should “be applauded” for supporting her through the entire ordeal, whereas Casey’s parents, George and Cindy Anthony, “hurt her case.”
Baez adds that watching the Knox verdict was "a very surreal moment for me because I remembered being in that situation -- where a young woman's life hung in the balance -- and in a split second, her life was given back to her."
