Real Housewives of NYC: Rumored newbies

Alex, Jill, Kelly, and Cindy who? Before the dish was even cold, the Interwebs was abuzz with rumored replacements for the recently pink-slipped Real Housewives of New York City.

Bravo TV released a statement in September, saying that only "Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and LuAnn DeLesseps will be returning for season 5 of The Real Housewives of New York City. We’ve had a fabulous run with all the ladies and appreciate them sharing their lives with our viewers. It is a friendly departure among the other ladies and we continue to have on-going discussions with them.

So who are the rumored new housewives in the hood? The New York Daily News quotes sources who say the new ladies Carole Radziwill, fashion designer Heather Thomson, and Wall Street wife Aviva Drescher.

Carole is actually a distant relative of Jackie Onassis and is related to the style icon through her late husband Anthony Radziwill. Anthony’s mother Lee Radziwill is Jackie’s little sister. Carole is a former ABC producer and now a bestselling author. She has no children, so she’ll reportedly add drama to the new season as the single girl in the group.

Heather is the fashion designer of Yummie Tummie shape wear line. She’s married and has two children.

Aviva is the wife of Reid Drescher, the well-to-do founder of Spencer Clarke Securities & Investment Banking, and has three children with him.

Bravo hasn’t confirmed the new cast line-up yet, saying "We haven't made any announcements regarding new ladies at this time."

The show starts filming on October 3. So what do you think—are you more or less likely to watch the show with the new cast?
