Celebrate how -- presumably -- normal you are as you read about these shocking stories of everyday people indulging in highly irregular habits on the TLC docu-series “My Strange Addiction.”
Meet Tricia, a woman who says she “can’t stop” tanning. Tricia says she belongs to six tanning salons, “and I go to all of them if I have something big going on,” she explains, adding: “To me it’s almost disgusting if someone doesn’t have a little color, because the sun is healthy.”
Krystin, 22, might have an even stranger addiction: She loves eating chalk. “I love the texture of it, I love the taste,” she says. “The more I see people’s reactions to what I do, chalk-wise, makes me wonder if I have a problem, but right now I don’t think I have a problem.”
Finally, 37-year-old Dave Cat is in love -- with his real doll. “Originally, when I first got her, I called her my synthetic girlfriend. But it’s actually progressed to the point where it’s like, ‘Ya know, she’s my wife.’” The little everyday things, like getting his “wife” dressed and brushing her hair, “brings us closer together as a couple,” he says.
