Dr. Drew visited the HLN studios in Hollywood and checked out his new set on Monday.

During his stop, he greeted the staff members he'll be closely working with on the upcoming nightly program that is now just days away.

As the busy doctor got a feel for his new HLN home, he engaged in conversation with the crew saying that he had just seen patients in the morning. After his visit, he headed to an LA gym and then went on to attend a movie premiere later in the evening.

Burt Dubrow, the show's executive producer, was in the studio Monday and said this is a type of program that viewers haven't seen before.

"This is the first show like this that Dr. Drew and HLN is doing," he explained. "We'll be taking things people are talking about and the human behavior behind it in a very relevant, topical, approachable way."

The new show will help establish the connection between people at the core of the news conversation and the real lives of HLN viewers.
